L’École Van Cleef & Arpels and Cinema Akil present a series of outdoor screenings, from the most famous jewel hunt classic ever seen to epic historical tales, the program of films at L’École aims to inspire and awe.
Saturated frames, ostentatiousness in costume and set and elaborate mise en scenes, this lineup of films features some of the most stunning frames in cinema. The cinema program is designed to capture films and cinematic works that not only have influenced the standards of jewelry design, luxury and creation, but also aims to nudge audiences to think and reflect some of the picturesque moments in their work and process.
Cinema Akil at L’École Van Cleef & Arpels will take place on a rooftop terrace in Hai d3 with breathtaking views of the Dubai skyline. Each film will be introduced by an art historian of L’École who will share educational insights on the historical context of the jewelry content.
Screening is free entry. To book call 800-VANCLEEF from 11 am to 8 pm
Founded with the support of the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels in Paris in February 2012, L’École Van Cleef & Arpels is the world’s first school established for the general public to discover the Savoir-Faire, history and culture of fine jewelry and watchmaking. A school like no other, it presents a unique opportunity to enrich knowledge through experimentation and dialogue.
Although located in an 18th century mansion in Place Vendome – the cradle of Parisian jewelry – L’École travels around the world in a spirit of values of open sharing and transmission. As part of its nomadic program, L’École makes its Middle East debut from the 7th to the 25th of November, 2017.
