Continuing the now established position of Warehouse421 as a destination for cinema, the new season of the film program at Wednesdays at the Warehouse will carry on a conversation surrounding the landscape of contemporary Arab cinema in the heart of Abu Dhabi.
Last season we began our journey through the best works of recent contemporary Arab cinema from Egypt, UAE, Morocco and Palestine and the upcoming lineup will continue on to showcase the region’s best.
The films will take us through trials and tribulations, love and laughter, freedom and triumphs all through the eyes of new directorial voices from the MENA region. Romantic comedies to historical dramas — the program focuses on feature narrative films and shorts that will bolster the continuum of Warehouse421’s commitment to supporting cultural production from the region’s perspective.
Warehouse421 is a new venue for arts and culture located in Mina Zayed district of Abu Dhabi that has been converted from two of the port’s former industrial warehouses. The mission of Warehouse421 is to celebrate art and culture, design and creativity, performance and music, from artists and designers based here in the UAE and from around the world, and to let people experience these disciplines in a unique and original space. The conversion of Warehouse421 has been overseen by the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation as part of its mission to support the growth of the arts and cultural sector of the UAE.
