Ramdocs at Alserkal Avenue

Co-presented by Alserkal Avenue, Cinema Akil will present four film screenings, every Wednesday during Ramadan starting May 23rd. The program will begin with the Lebanese documentary Those Who Remain by Eliane Raheb where we follow the struggle of Haykal Mikhael as he tries so hold on to his land among sectarian tensions. We continue with the inspiring and Academy award nominated documentary Life, Animated which tells the story of Owen and how we overcame great challenges by turning Disney films into a language to express love, loss, kinship and brotherhood.
In June, we will travel to Saudi Arabia with the documentary Madayen that tells the tale of three young Saudis who set out to the notoriously haunted Madayen Saleh ruins to investigate the myths and truths behind its curse. The program ends with the powerful documentary Food Evolution, which uses the controversy over genetically modified foods as a way to show how easily fear and misinformation can overwhelm objective, evidence-based analysis.
Join us every Wednesday from May 23 until June 13 at 9:30 PM at A4 Space, Alserkal Avenue. Entry is free of cost and first-come-first-seated policy applies.
